Ostmark Annual Directory 1941 – 3rd Edition

Illustrated annual volume from the Nazi era – Graz, Vienna and Leipzig

Author: Alfred Wokaun

Language: German

Publisher: NS-Gauverlag und Druckerei Steiermark G.m.b.H, 1941

The "Ostmark-Jahrweiser" was an annually published mixture of calendar, local history book, literary reader, and politically oriented yearbook. This edition was published in 1941 as the third annual volume for Austria, which was annexed to the German Reich and referred to at the time as the "Ostmark."

Contemporary bibliographical records list literary and political-historical contributions, among others, in the third volume. Today, the series is also a subject of research into the Austrian literary system and the cultural policy of the years 1938 to 1945. It is therefore not merely a decorative yearbook, but a primary source of contemporary history regarding the everyday life, literature, and propaganda of Nazi Austria.
