Historical postcard from the Austrian League of Nations Association from 1920, addressed to the significant theologian and scholar of religion Prof. Dr. Karl Beth. Karl Beth was a professor of Systematic Theology at the University of Vienna and is considered one of the important early representatives of the psychology of religion in the German-speaking world.
The back contains an invitation from the Section for Permanent Youth Welfare to a meeting regarding:
“Permanent Aid for Austria’s Youth”
on December 3, 1920, at the Administrative Court in Vienna.
The card is signed by the Secretary General of the Austrian League of Nations Association, Arthur Müller. The document thus connects several historically interesting areas: the League of Nations movement, Austrian post-war history, youth welfare, religious studies, and university history.
The card is in good condition for its age with slight paper browning and typical signs of wear. Postage, date stamp, address, and typewritten text are well-preserved – see photos.
An interesting original document of contemporary history from the immediate post-war period and the early international League of Nations movement.
