Historical business letter from the German inflation period sent by the Vereinigte Freiwaldauer Braungeschirrtöpfereien E.G.m.b.H. from Freiwaldau in the district of Sagan. Particularly striking is the exceptionally extensive multiple franking with numerous orange 10 Pf. Germania stamps of the German Reich. The stamps were applied both to the front and extensively to the back, and cancelled with numerous contemporary postmarks.

The letter was sent on business to Görlitz and vividly documents the rapidly rising postal rates during the German inflation period. The extraordinary number of stamps used makes the cover visually appealing and a typical example of the increasingly high frankings of this time. The company imprint of the “Vereinigten Freiwaldauer Braungeschirrtöpfereien E.G.m.b.H.” is fully preserved on the front and gives the cover an additional interesting economic and regional historical context.

The envelope is in a clearly used, authentic postal condition. There are edge damages, creases, tears, and age-related signs of wear. Some individual stamps show damage. However, the extraordinary overall franking and numerous stamps are largely preserved – see images.
