Historical official court letter from the Braunschweig Regional Court from 1926. On the front is the prominent red note:
"Enclosed is a form for a certificate of service – simplified service"
The document thus provides evidence of the formal judicial correspondence of the time and was addressed to a Justizrat (judicial councilor) in Neuhaldensleben. The franking consists of a contemporary stamp of the German Reich, neatly cancelled with a Braunschweig daily postmark. On the back, there is an official seal or service stamp.
The envelope is in a used condition commensurate with its age, with creases, fold marks, minor tears, and paper discoloration. However, the official notations, stamps, and franking are well preserved – see images.
An interesting contemporary collector's item for collectors of legal history, court and official mail, the German Reich, certificates of service, and German postal history of the Weimar Republic.
