Historical military registered document from Berlin, dated March 1941, with a "Provisional Motor Vehicle Requisition" printed on or integrated into the reverse side by the Military Replacement Inspectorate Berlin. Of particular interest is the direct connection to the registration and potential seizure of civilian motor vehicles for the purposes of the Wehrmacht. The document notifies the recipient that the designated motor vehicle was earmarked for military use based on the Imperial Performance Act (Reichsleistungsgesetz). The exact date of call-up was to be communicated later by the Military Replacement Inspectorate.
On the front are the original registration label "Berlin-Tempelhof 1 – 505," several contemporary postmarks, and official service stamps of the Military Replacement Inspectorate. The note "Frei durch Ablösung Reich!" (Free by Imperial Redemption!) indicates official government postage. The card or letter was indeed sent via post and bears a Berlin-Tempelhof postmark from March 28, 1941, as well as another Berlin processing stamp from the following day.
The document is in a good, authentic condition appropriate for its age. Visible are signs of folding, creases, minor tears, and age-related wear. However, the essential text, stamps, and postal markings are well-preserved—see images.
A particularly interesting historical collector's item for collectors of Wehrmacht documents, military replacement affairs, vehicle requisitions, the Imperial Performance Act, military mail, and German postal history of the Second World War.
