Sender: Royal Railway Directorate Treasury Augsburg

Recipient: Royal Railway Station / Freight Station in Lindau

Place of dispatch: Augsburg

Arrival: Lindau

Date: February 1908

Franking: 10 Pfennig Bavaria

Type: official railway service letter

Historical service letter of the Royal Bavarian State Railways from the year 1908. On the front is the clear sender imprint:

“From the Royal Railway Directorate Treasury Augsburg”

The letter was addressed to a royal railway station or freight station in Lindau. It is therefore an authentic administrative and business document from the internal correspondence of the Bavarian railway administration. The 10-pfennig stamp of the Kingdom of Bavaria is cancelled with a clear Augsburg date stamp. On the back is a well-preserved Lindau arrival stamp from 1908.

The envelope is in good condition for its age with signs of folding, creases, and minor edge damage. The franking, the official imprints, and the postal stamps are, however, well preserved – see images.

An interesting contemporary collector's item for collectors of Bavarian philately, railway history, Royal Bavarian State Railways, official mail, and German transport history.
